Tsii stapii moihka CCHSA?What is CCHSA?
  • The Canadian Council of Health Services
Accreditation is a major National screening body
    for health services across Canada.
  • Their Mission is to help organizations like
Siksika Health Services, to examine and improve
the quality of the care and services we
provide.Today, more than 3500 sites, services and
programs are currently accredited by CCHSA.
  • Siksika Health Services is the only First Nation
organization in Canada, who are attempting to
have all their programs accredited by CCHSA.

Tsaakonistiisamoo?How long will it take?
  • The Accreditation Process is a learning and
improvement cycle which is conducted over a 3
    year period.
  • Health will need to follow-up on the
recommendations made from the CCHSA. To continue
and make ongoing improvements to their facilities
    and services for Siksika.

What are the components of accreditation?
  • Organizations need to have the FULL support from
Leadership and boards to be successful.
  • Leadership needs to communicate to stakeholders
    why accreditation will benefit them.
  • First, organizations do a Self Assessment.
  • (review of our activities)
  • Followed by a Survey.
  • (team of health care professionals)
  • Receive a Report
  • We need to follow up on recommendations given by
