measure,May I give graciouslyOf what is mine
  • The Delta Zeta Creed

  • Philanthropy means generositygiving through
    service to help others.

4
  • Our national philanthropies are supported by both
    collegiate and alumnae chapters.

5
  • Delta Zetas national focus on philanthropy
    supports
  • Speech and Hearing
  • and
  • The Painted Turtle camp

6
  • Isnt Gallaudet University our national
    philanthropy?

No. We support Gallaudet University, House Ear
Institute, The Starkey Hearing Foundation, and
the Sound Beginnings Program under our Speech
and Hearing philanthropy. They are our
partners, not our philanthropy.

  • Alone we cant do much. But, together we can
    change the world.
  • William F. Austin, Founder
  • www.sotheworldmayhear.org

9
  • Partnership was announced at the 2006 National
    Convention
  • 20,000 hearing aids delivered annually to those
in financial need through more than 150 hearing
    missions a year
  • Hear Now is a national, non-profit program
assisting deaf and hard of hearing individuals
in the United States with limited financial
resources by collecting hearing aids for
    recycling purposes.

10
  • The camp is a member of the Association of Hole
in the Wall Camps co-founded by Paul Newman.
  • The only multi-disease medical camp of its kind
    of the West coast.
  • Mission To provide a year-round, life-changing
environment for children with chronic and
    life-threatening illnesses.
  • For campers, being surrounded by others who have
the same disease is a normalizing and empowering
    experience.

11
Sound Beginnings Program
  • Delta Zetas national philanthropic project is in
    its fourth year.
  • Goal Educate parents on the importance of timely
follow-up activities if their infant does not
    pass the newborn hearing screening.
  • How Provide doctors offices with Sound
    Beginnings educational brochures and videos.
  • Why? Nationally, 50 of infants who fail the
infant hearing screening do not receive follow-up
    testing. Help decrease that percentage!

12
  • Myth Our state mandates hearing testing so the
Sound Beginnings Program is not applicable to us.
  • Fact Our materials are about the importance of
FOLLOW-UP testing for parents whose children fail
the hearing screening. This program can make a
    difference in all 50 states!
  • ITS ALL ABOUT THE FOLLOW-UP
