Data Privacy

• Keeping data secret so it cannot be accessed by
  unauthorised users
• Data Protection Act provides legal protection for
  individuals personal data

Data Integrity

• Data integrity relates to the correctness of
  data (remember all that value of information
  stuff in ICT1???)
• Loss of data integrity can occur for a number of
  reasons (see slide 6)

Data Security

• Keeping data safe from physical loss (either
  accidental or intentional)
• Ensuring data is confidential and correct i.e.
  ensuring data privacy and data integrity
