Current Job Board
Currently the job boards location makes it
difficult to notice. It often appears unorganized
and hard to read. We plan to improve this
important resource in the following ways

Hot Job Board

• Create an attractive background
• Organize it by Hot Job career categories for
  our area
• Each career cluster will be color coded
• Health Care (Cherry)
• Transportation (Blue)
• Service Industry (Gold)
• Postings from the job bank will color match their
  respective cluster and be arranged in columns

Hot Job Board Requests

• Request Permission to install a spotlight in
  the hallway to showcase the Job Board.
• Why? Once reorganized, this would help to catch
  the attention of WorkForce Center customers and
  others who utilize this area.

Hot Careers Carousel

• Use a brochure carousel to display color coded
  information and resources related to hot career
  categories
• Skills matching list
• Sample resumes and
• cover letters
• Training options
• Career vocabulary

Computer Advertising

• Create a tab for Hot Jobs on resource computers
  (CRS)
• List Hot Jobs on welcome screen/page

Hot Jobs Handout

• Create a two-sided flyer/handout
• Side one Hot Job listings
• Side two Highlight related workshops and
  trainings.
• Other info past newsletter articles or helpful
  resources
• Flyer will be available at resource desk and
  tables

Skills Assessments

• Make Caps, Cops, Copes assessments available to
  the universal customer on a regular basis.
• Will start with monthly and increase based on
  demand
• Sign-up sheet posted at Resource Desk

Future Ideas

• Add bulletin board in Resource Area between
  window and computers to post additional helpful
  information
• Utilize large bulletin boards in meeting room
• Connect with School Counselors regarding Hot
  Jobs and related training

Future Ideas

• Display Hot Jobs in bathrooms similar to
  restaurant advertising
• Assist customers in becoming computer literate (a
  computer lab would be best for this)
• Training in online job applications
• Prepare customers for on-the-spot interviewing
  and occupational language/vocabulary

• Job leads on job board are listed under the three
  high demand career clusters
• New bulletin board has been added to the resource
  area
