leaves during Autumn?

During fall, why do leaves change color?

• As the weather gets colder and daylight
  decreases, trees do not get as much sunlight as
  they need to keep their leaves green.
• During fall, trees produce less chlorophyll (the
  green in leaves that helps them make their food).
  When leaves start to lose their green color,
  they begin to die.
• Leaves change color as trees prepare for winter.

Why do leaves fall?

• As leaves lose sunlight, they begin to die and
  separate from the branches of the tree.
• Oak trees and different types of evergreen trees
  are the only types of trees that do not shed
  leaves or needles.
