Responsibilities of U.S. Technical Advisory
Groups (TAGs)
  • Determine the U.S. positions on matters arising
    before an international standards committee
  • Submit these positions, via ANSI, to the
    committee
  • Initiate and approve U.S. proposals for new work,
    draft texts, and/or U.S. positions on drafts that
    have been submitted by others
  • Appoint
  • delegations to represent U.S. interests to the
    related international committee
  • experts to serve on working groups
  • Nominate U.S. candidates for officer positions,
    as appropriate
  • Establish liaisons with groups working in related
    fields
  • Serve as host for meetings of the committee that
