Secondary Waiver Permission

  • A road map that identifies the secondary and
    postsecondary courses the student will need to
    take to ensure that they will have the knowledge
    and skills needed for the end of their career
    journey.

  • A coordinated, non-duplicative progression of
    courses that align secondary education with
    postsecondary education to adequately prepare
    students to enter into postsecondary education,
    an apprenticeship, and employment.

  • Every local recipient must offer at least one CTE
    Program of Study.
  • Secondary and postsecondary alignment
  • Coherent and rigorous course content (academic
    and technical)
  • Dual enrollment/credit opportunity
  • Must lead to an industry-recognized credential,
    certificate or degree
  • This language is closely aligned with the
    definition and work of Tech Prep.
