• Always worked on my own motorbikes
• Work with another mechanic
• Apprenticeship for four years

A TYPICAL DAY

• Wake up at 7am.
• Have breakfast, dressed and drive to work in New
  Gisborne.
• Unpack my tool box and check what my first job
  is.
• I put pot rivets on a motor-bike.
• I talk to two customers who bring their bikes in
  and book them in.
• Morning Tea
• Working on bikes for the rest of the morning-
  repair and service.
• Lunch
• After lunch I clean up and do some bookwork. I
  send out bills to customers and order new plates.
• Five oclock. Clean up the workshop, turn off,
  lock up and go home.

The best thing about my jobs

• Is to pull all the parts out of the motor-bikes
  and clean them. Then I have to put the bike back
  together. This is quite tricky!

Where I work

• In New Gisborne, in the Industrial Estate at JD
  Motorcycles. Three other people work with me.
  They serve people, do bookwork and fix motor
  bikes.
