Demands on Water in the Chicago land area

• Right now Chicago and its suburbs are
  experiencing an increasing demand for water from
  a growing population and economy. We may even
  experience water scarcity in the near future.

Water Limitations in the Chicago land area

• In the past we enjoyed inexpensive water. With
  increased demand for the water, using it
  efficiently becomes even more important. For
  industry, that means such things as recycling
  waste and exercising better pollution control.
  For individuals it means such things as
  installing water-saving showerheads, reducing
  flush water, and planting trees and vegetation
  that need less water.
