  • This one week course introduces the experienced
supervisor (who has previously attended First
Line Supervision) to the newest concepts in the
now updated First Line Supervision course.
Students are introduced to the concept of Problem
Based Learning (PBL), emotional intelligence and
journaling.  This allows the supervisor access to
the newest training in the subject area that the
North Carolina Justice Academy has available.
The supervisor is also updated on the legal
    issues associated with law enforcement
    supervision.
  • Police Training Officer (PTO) Gary Dudley
  • This forty hour course uses PBL to prepare the
new PTO to coach new recruits to agency job

7
Management Supervision Center
  • Leadership Development for Law Enforcement
    Managers V Duncan
  • This one week course  facilitates the use of
Problem Based Learning (PBL) which focuses the
responsibility for learning to the student.
Students work in groups and are given
assignments such as a group ill-structured (real
life and law enforcement relevant) problem (with
no single solution), along with reading and
    journaling assignments.  Journaling segues into
