RESEARCH OBJECTIVES Development of new algorithms
and applications for multiobjective
optimization, constraint-handling and evolvable
hardware (extrinsic gate-level design)
THEORETICAL PROJECTS AND APPROACHES We have
developed a micro-genetic algorithm for
multiobjective optimization, and a multiobjective
extension of the particle swarm optimization
algorithm. We have also extended previous
implementations of constraint-handling techniques
based on cultural algorithms and an artificial
immune system.
PRACTICAL PROJECTS AND APPROACHES We currently
participate in a project involving the Michigan
Technical University (USA), IMTA (México) and
CINVESTAV-IPN to develop new algorithms and
metrics for multiobjective optimization
techniques applied to groundwater modeling.
