In the summer of 1991 a few students including
V.J.P.Srivatsavoy, D. Gupta, and S.
Pandey started Asha in University of California
Berkeley
Mission
To catalyze socio-economic change in India
through education of underprivileged children.

• Asha is a flat organization
• All chapters are independent with respect to
  their resources, funds, events and projects
• However there is a good deal of co-operation
  among chapters and volunteers across chapters

No part of the donations is used for
administrative purposes

• Works in-sync with other Asha chapters
• About 15 active volunteers

• Only volunteers, No administrative personnel
