• BA core complete?

• Deficient Foreign Language (DFL) requirement
  You may have been admitted without the Foreign
  Language requirement.

• If so, it becomes a graduation requirement.
  Submit proof that you meet the requirement to
  your COB advisor or the Office of the Registrar.

• Bachelor of Arts must complete minor in a
  Foreign Language to qualify.

COMMON GRAD PROBLEMS

• Synthesis Bacc Core
• Must have one course from each group (CGI STS)
• The two courses used to fulfill the Synthesis
  requirement may not be in the same department
• Student didnt check w/ minor dept
• COB GPA requirement(s) not met
• Student didnt have official transcripts for
  transfer courses sent to Admissions

GRADUATION vs. WALKING

• Graduation is when you finish your last
  requirements.
• Walking is when you go through the ceremony.
• You do not have to participate in ceremony.
• You must apply for graduation.

The Diplomahow to get it

• At the Commencement Ceremony
• Spring term graduates who meet preliminary grade
  requirements will receive their diplomas at the
  ceremony.
• Seniors whose graduation status is questionable
  based upon preliminary grades obtained in May or
  who will graduate summer term will not receive a
  diploma at commencement. Instead, they will
  receive a case along with a letter explaining
  that final grades are needed to confirm their
  degree status.
• If you completed degree requirements prior to
  this spring term and obtained your diploma at
  that time, you will receive a diploma case during
  commencement, but not another certificate.

• If not participating in ceremony
• Graduating Spring Pick up week after ceremony
  at Registrars counter (photo ID required).
• Graduating Summer, Fall, Winter Pick up diploma
  month after last term (photo ID required)
• Can arrange to have Registrar mail it for a small
  fee.
• Note Options and minors show up on transcript
  only.

The Ceremony

• Sunday, June 17, 2007 200pm, Reser Stadium
• Held only once per year.
• Info mailed to you by Registrar in early April.
  Read it!
• RSVP card for ceremony included in info packet.
  You must return card to Registrar to participate.
• You CANNOT walk this June if graduating following
  fall.

• April 24th 25th Commencement Countdown, MU
  Ballroom (cap gown, invitations, rings, etc.)
  If you can't attend, you may obtain your items
  from the OSU Bookstore after April 25th.
• New for 2007! No tickets needed for entry to
  stadium.
• COB holds a drop-in reception the morning prior
  to the ceremony. You will receive an annoucement.
