What is matter?

• Matter is anything that takes up space.

What are the three states of matter?

• Solid
• A solid has a shape of its own.
• Liquid
• A liquid does not have a shape of its own. It
  takes the shape of its container.
• Gas
• Gas spreads out to fill its container and does
  not have a shape of its own.

• What are some examples of gases?
• Air in tires, balloons, or balls.
