Digital photoframes enable dynamic, high quality
images to be displayed on a wall, bedside table,
desktop or wherever! The concept implemented in
this thesis project is to have the images
displayed vary depending on the external
environment. In this case, the presence of noise
and the surrounding temperature.

• Audio System/Analysis
• The iPAQ H3600 onboard audio system communicates
  to a Philips UDA1341 code through the StrongARM
  processors serial port.
• Maaate is a C toolkit to parse and analyse audio
  data. A module interface allows content analysis
  functions to detect silence based on the
  information extracted by Maaate.

• Compaq iPAQ H3630
• iPAQ is a small form-factor, multimedia-centric
  PDA with versatile expansion capabilities.
• Multiple serial ports for communicating with
  external devices. Project utilises RS-232C port.
• StrongARM Core CPU (206 MHz).

• Familiar
• Familiar is a distribution of Linux for handheld
  computers.
• Binary and Library compatible w/ Debians ARM
  distribution. In most cases, programs can be
  taken from Debian and executed on the iPAQ w/out
  issue.

• Hardware (non-SPI solution
• PIC16F627 (20MHz, 15 I/O, USART)
• 2-Wire Digital Thermometer and Thermostat
  (DS1721)
• MAX232
