Why a charging scheme?

• Maintains and improves traffic mobility in city
  centre
• Keeps traffic flowing in outer Edinburgh
  especially at peak periods
• Quantum increase in funding for better transport

The scheme 2 cordons

The Scheme

• Entry permit system
• Monday to Friday only
• Outer cordon
• Morning peak (7 am to 10 am)
• Inner cordon
• Working day (7 am to 6.30 pm)
• Flat fee - 2 per day - no more / no less

• Motor cycles
• Taxis (black cabs)
• Buses and coaches
• Approved recovery and breakdown vehicles
• Blue badge holders
• Registered car club vehicles
• Outer Edinburgh residents
