The difference between innovative, effective
churches and ones that have plateaued and are in
decline, is that growing and effective churches
have a clearly defined purpose and
a strategy to achieve it.

Select Your Priorities
AskWhere will you direct your efforts?
In Setting Priorities there are as many things
you need to stop doing, as there as there are
actions you need to start taking.
Could you assign a person to be responsible for
this area of activity?
Which 3-7 areas will best help us experience
(move us toward) our purpose in the coming year?

Developing a Ministry Advancement Plan
How do you practically Select Priorities?
As a team brainstorm and create an exhaustive
list of all of the potential priorities for
consideration in the coming ministry year.
With the exhaustive list before them, have each
team member personally rank their top 7
priorities.
Have someone read each priority option and keep
score as team members raise their hands for their
top 7 priorities
Rewrite the list based on the scores received
(most votes 1, second most 2, etc)
You now have your list of priorities!

the outworking of your church purpose?

Structure Action Plans
Consider the Six Ws when developing a plan
WHAT do we plan to accomplish to meet our goal?
(review outcomes)
WHEN does this need to be completed?
WHO will be responsible to guide or achieve this
action?
WHERE will the required activity take place?
WHICH resources are needed to accomplish this
goal?

WHY is this the preferred action to achieve our
goal?
