  • The Road Authority (TRA) is delivered to Ontario
Municipalities as key member service by the
    Ontario Good Roads Association
  • TRA represents and operates as a public and
    private partnership
  • TRA is an Internet-based information resource
that provides a mechanism for infrastructure
    owners, consultants, contractors and product
suppliers to collaborate and share information
  • TRA provides users with information on products,
services and technical solutions available for
use in the public works sector

3
WHAT IS THE ROAD AUTHORITY?
  • WHAT IS IT REALLY?
  • Web based database for products used for roads,
    bridges and public works
  • Enables suppliers and manufacturers to list their
    product information
  • Shows product classification given by the Ontario
    Provincial Standards - Products Management
    Committee (OPS-PMC)
  • Enables M.T.O. to maintain Designated Sources of
    Material (DSM) lists
  • Enables municipalities to maintain Municipal

    Interfaces (MPIs)

WHAT IS THE ROAD AUTHORITY?
  • HOW DOES IT WORK?
  • Companies wishing to profile their products
and/or services in the database register with TRA
  • Companies can also request the Ontario Provincial
    Standards - Product Management Committee
    (OPS-PMC) and participating municipalities to
    review their product for acceptance
  • Companies use TRAs Workbench Technology to
maintain in real time, their corporate, product
    and service information

5
WHAT IS THE ROAD AUTHORITY?
  • WHY DOES IT WORK?

direct exposure to their market place
  • Classification by OPS-PMC provides value-added
information to users regarding the use and
application of products and/or services and a
    recognition of compliance with standards
  • Municipalities with limited resources can

    expertise provided by the OPS-PMC
