LOCAL WEATHER DATA SET
  • Similar to current AWDS Local Weather Data Set
    (LWDS)
  • Capability to keep local weather data for
    multiple stations configured on your server
  • Select station through ICAO box top-left of
    screen
  • Data displayed for one station at a time
  • Ability to print Top or Bottom portions of screen
    (Laser or Laser Jet Printers)
  • Data update
  • Manually using the Update button
  • Automatically every time data is updated in
    system
  • Periodic update according to Refresh Rate
  • User selectable from 1 to 5 minutes
  • Keep LWDS open and maximized to keep connection
    with the server open and your token alive

MULTIPLE ICAOS
  • Multiple locations can be configured on an AMIS
    server
  • Users logged onto a common server (CWTs,
    deployed units, etc.) will be able to disseminate
    products and view the Local Weather Data sets for
    other locations configured on the server
  • OWS must log onto your local AMIS server in
    order for products to be disseminated locally and
    longline

COMMON FUNCTIONALITY FOR A/N FORMS
  • Save - save product to database for future
    reference (replaces A/N command sequences)
  • Restore - retrieve previously saved product from
    database
  • Clear - clear all text entry fields
  • Modify Existing - (in all windows except
    WA/WW/View by ICAO/View by Criteria)

  • Able to disseminate observations with little
    change to former AWDS setup
  • Selectable ICAO for Observation being sent

  • Modify Existing function available
  • Save/Restore function replaced A/N command
    sequences
  • No Help function

WEATHER OBSERVATION
  • Must select type of observation before entering
    data
  • Must use to clear fields with data previously
    entered (e.g. Present weather, wind gusts, etc.),
    similar to AWDS
  • Not all fields allow overwrite. Clear fields
    before entering new text
  • Cut and paste features allowed in certain fields
    using right mouse click. Cut and paste from
    Longline to local remarks only
  • If you enter an invalid value in certain fields,
    you will be prompted by error message

  • Manually select Alert Status
  • Default Routing (preset by system manager. Same
    as AWDS system)
  • Display Purge in hourly increments. Preset times
    through RSM settings)
  • Action options to Send or Cancel

  • To manually select locations to route your
    product, you must double click on the list of
    locations to add them to your Selected
    Destinations list
  • To deselect, double click left mouse button
  • Local destinations are local customers
  • External destinations are FTP destinations
  • AMIS destinations using current AWDS protocol
    (PPC)

  • Able to create and edit up to 12 groups, each
    group associated with a line of TAF
  • Able to insert and delete lines of TAF as
    necessary
  • Icing and Turbulence buttons walk you through
    inputs
  • Can add previous line of TAFs Icing or
    Turbulence to current line by selecting Last
    button or manually inputting the data

    the current advisory or a list of current
    advisories
  • You can select preformatted Advisories/Messages
    criteria made by System Manager
  • Set through NTFS GWS or Observer Terminal (POBS)
  • Reissue takes the place of Modify Existing

    and Contact Remarks (e.g. no answer, Tower

    Remarks/Comments
  • No print capability

    database
  • Toggle Yes or No if you want the product to be
    displayed in your LWDS

  • Ability to print View portion of screen
  • Selectable Local/Longline view

  • Similar to former AWDS View by Criteria
  • Able to view items by Type, from selected ICAOs,
    with certain Valid Times, File Time Ranges,
    Geographic Areas, MANOP Headers, and Product
    IDs.
  • This opens up the View by Criteria Viewer window
    that will allow you to Print the information or
    Quit the window.
  • Able to view items by Type, from selected ICAOs,
    STOP will terminate your request
  • Cannot request Total Weather (TW)
  • Will not format ARQ if data not found in database.

  • By selecting the List button, you can get a
    listing of items that fit the description of your
    request. From this window you can Select or
    Clear items by clicking on them.

  • Any items in the system will appear in the
    Qualifying Products window

  • Stop will halt your request
  • You can Print items in the View Window

  • Capability is similar to former AWDS version
  • You can select precedence
  • Enter the text of the ARQ (i.e. Bulletin name,
    forecast, observation, etc.) in text field
  • ARQs are automatically routed to BWS00
  • User can query for ARQs using View by Criteria
  • Enter AM in the type window and KAWN in the ICAO
    block

EPHEMERIS DATA REPORT
  • AMIS Ephemeris Data consists of Lunar and Solar
    data, Local and UTC Time and Date, Station
    Location, ICAO, WMO identifier, Latitude and
    Longitude, and Station Elevation
  • You can display data for more than one ICAO if
    system is set up through Remote System Manager
    with correct site data (I.e. elevation, magnetic
    deviation, UTC offset, etc.)
  • Data will be the current days information

EPHEMERIS DATA REPORT
  • Page two allows you to create Solar and Lunar
    Data report for a location with a length of 1, 7,
    15, and 31 days
  • You can cut and paste data to a Word document or
    Notepad for printing using CTL-C and CTL-V
