Gender Inequality

• What is the question?
• What are the determinants of gender earnings
  inequality? What role does family policy play in
  structuring this earnings inequality?
• Findings If we control for overall earnings
  distribution (payment structure), then family
  policy appears to have no effect. Actually, it
  has two, countervailing effects. Increases
  occ.seg, and diminishes inequality (cancels out).
  No evidence of wage discrimination
