Where Bills Come From

• Anyone can come up with idea
• Congressperson (Senator or House member) must
  introduce written bill who puts name on it

Passed by Congress

• Bill must be passed by both House and Senate
• Then goes to President for his signature or veto
  (rejection)

• If he signs the bill, it becomes law
• If he vetoes it, it dies, unless
