Implementation
  • The aim was to increase the awareness and the
    knowledge of energy labels in the field of
    appliances, buildings and electricity
  • Allow to make a well informed choice when
    purchasing appliances, electricity or even a
    building
  • Target groups were energy consumers including
    private households, companies and public bodies

  • The projects consists of 4 different phases
  • 1. Market overview
  • Elaboration of an overview of existing labels
  • Implementation of a survey concerning how
    well-known energy labels are in general and to
    which extent they are used in practice for
    decision making
  • 2. Development of an information package for end
    consumers
  • Consumers' guide on energy labels
  • Development of slides for presentations
  • Development of Exhibition panels
  • Development of internet sites
  • 3. Dissemination of the information packages
  • 4. Best practice on energy labelling, "labellers
    workshop" and impact assessment

Results
  • 110,000 copies of consumers' guides on labels
    were developed and disseminated.
  • 24 exhibition panels informing about energy
    labels were shown at 33 exhibitions or fairs
  • 219 different power point slides were used in 92
    presentations in schools, universities, on
    consumer information events etc.
  • 366,000 post-cards and stickers promoting the
    project internet sites and the "A label were
    disseminated
  • More than 140 articles were published in the
    technical and daily press triggered by the press
    activities of the project partners
  • An international workshop on energy labels was
    held in Brussels
  • A best- practice paper on energy labelling was
    developed and an impact assessment was carried
    out
