  • Students will
  • master basic tumbling skills including rolls,
    jumps, balances, simple flexibility moves and
    beginner-level stunts
  • master basic skills on apparatus like the balance
    beam, rings, ropes and vaulting horse
  • learn safety skills and spotting techniques
  • create a simple tumbling routine
  • critique their peers and assess themselves

Create a tumbling routineusing the skills you
learned in class!
  • Routine Requirements
  • You may work with a partner or up to three
    additional performers
  • You must include at least three tumbling passes,
    performing skills from each category
  • Each pass must include three skills and each
    skill must be from a different category such as
    jumps, balances, rolls, inverted skills and
    partner stunts
  • You will diagram your routine, and write out your
    sequences using the handouts provided
  • All routines will be digitally recorded and
    assessed using a pre-designed rubric
  • Your memorized routine will be due by the last
    day of tumbling class
  • Music, costumes and props are optional, but they
    add fun to your routines
