3How to hook up the CPS Unit
1. Hook up a data projector to your laptop (See
tutorial on Data Projector.)

2. Determine what kind of connection your CPS
unit has.
4Note-In order to use the CPS Unit with the USB
port, you must have CPS version 3.5.1 software
or later installed on your laptop.
5Installing the CPS Unit

Plug the CPS Receiver into the laptop.
6Turn on laptop and project it onto a screen (see
dataprojector tutorial)
Open the CPS Software by clicking on the icon.
If you already have a database of questions
prepared, select Open an Existing Database.
This will take you to a screen that looks like
this.
7Select Engage Lesson
Select your CPS database and open it.
8Select Start
9Select Next and it will take you to.
A toolbar like this will appear.
Press Start and the questions will begin
10Once you hit start, you will be able to see every
students keypad and tell who has answered, that
option was selected. The teacher has the option
to use the timer. When all have answered, hit
end and the correct answer will appear.
11Hit End
Select Endand the correct answer appears.
12Advance
Select the Advance button (gt)
and you will be taken to the next question.
13Continue to advance through the rest of your
questions using the same procedure as you
followed for question 1
