I am Anahi

• I came to the United States in July 2006 I was
  15I came from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico

• I came because I wanted to know how the schools
  are and because my mom and daddy were here and
  I didnt want to be alone. Well I didnt be
  alone I was with my sisters and brother but I
  was needing the affection of my parents.

My family

• I have 1 brother and 2 sisters. They are all
  older than me. My brothers and sisters are in
  Mexico.
• My mom works in a restaurant in Oak Cliff. In
  Mexico she had a restaurant. My mother finished
  preparatoria (high school) and studied for
  secretarial work after that.
• My dad finished high school. He is in
  construction of office buildings, in Dallas. In
  Mexico he repaired motors in factories.

My school

• In my school there were approximate 400 students.
  
• The teachers changed of room and the students
  stayed in the same room until the rest at 1020 .
  We had a store where we could buy the lunch .
• My school had a laboratory for chemistry. We had
  a computer room and there was a TV to watch
  videos about different classes.

My school in Monterrey

• The school provided us books , but sometimes we
  had to buy a special book .
• In the school we had to wear uniform , girls had
  to wear like a dress and the boys had to wear
  brown pants and shirt .
• We pledged to the flag every Monday before first
  period .
• The school had a sport teams , I was in one of
  them and we played against other schools .

• The school had a band class . I had a class where
  I played the clarinet, well the whole class
  played it .
• The building didnt have cameras or metal
  detectors .
• To be a teacher in the school must to finish the
  high school and five years of collage .

• To entrance to high school you have to take a
  big and hard test. Before this test, if you
  wanted, you could take tutoring , but you have
  to pay it .
• When the students behaved badly in school the
  principal had to call to their parents or
  sometimes you had to leave the school temporally
  .

• The education about both schools Adamson and the
  other one from Mexico are similar.
• both gave good education because things that the
  teachers are teaching me I already know from the
  other school but now I learn them in English.
  Soon I will need to learn new things I did not
  learn in Mexico.

The schools

• In Monterrey there are different kinds of schools
  . When I was in 8th grade I only had to pay
  60.00 per year ,but when I went to high school I
  had to pay like 400 for admission , and each six
  months I had to pay like 200 . Also you had to
  buy the books.

• Also in Monterrey there are schools called
  colegios . In this kinds of schools you have to
  pay each month , but the education is better .
  There you can learn better the English language ,
  but they are more strict.

Tecnologico

• This university is one of the betters schools
  from Monterrey. The cost is expensive and you
  should to have good grades .

My family

• My oldest sister didnt finish the high school ,
  but she has a job like a secretary and the
  company pay her a good salary.
• Also my brother didnt finish the high school .

• My youngest sister is studying in collage
  sometimes she likes to work , but my father
  doesnt like that idea that she works. He says
  education is more important.

Monterrey

• Monterrey is one of the biggest city of Mexico.
  It has a large population. I like my city
  because it has many museums and buildings to
  visit . I think that Dallas and Monterrey are
  similar in religion, technology and traditions.
