and Nanotechnology

• This course will cover
• Fundamentals mathematical concepts in image
  formation and analysis
• Optical Microscopy and contrast mechanisms,
  including Confocal Microscopy
• Scanning Probe Imaging and Spectroscopy
  techniques, including STM and STS, Contact and
  Noncontact AFM, EFM, MFM, Force-Distance
  Spectroscopies
• Scanning and Transmission Electron Microscopy,
  Including STEM and HRTEM
• Analytical methods in SEM and TEM, including
  EFTEM, EDX
• Sample preparation methods for different
  microscopy techniques
• Laboratory sessions for each topic will provide
  hands-on experience for available techniques.
