  • As for man, his days are like grass, he
flourishes like a flower of the field the wind
blows over it and it is gone, and its place
remembers it no more. But from everlasting to
everlasting the LORD's love is with those who
fear Him, and His righteousness with their
    children's children.
  • Psalm 10315-17

3
  • The length of our days is seventy years or
eighty, if we have the strength yet their span
is but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass,
and we fly away. Teach us to number our days
aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
  • Psalm 9010,12

4
  • In Gods perfect design for your life and mine,
He calls us to share one of His highest values
    family.

5
Why Family Is Important
  • God designed families for our good.

6
  • May God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful
and increase your numbers until you become a
    community of peoples.
  • Genesis 283

7
  • I will give you and your descendants the land on
which you are lying. Your descendants will be
like the dust of the earth, and you will spread
out to the west and to the east, to the north and
to the south. All peoples on earth will be
blessed through you and your offspring.

8
  • I am with you and will watch over you wherever
you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I
will not leave you until I have done what I have
    promised you.
  • Genesis 2813-15

9
Why Family Is Important
  • In Gods design, our families are the best place
to meet our deep needs safety, security, love,
    training, meaning.

10
  • Blessed are all who fear the LORD, who walk in
His ways. You will eat the fruit of your labor
blessings and prosperity will be yours. Your wife
will be like a fruitful vine within your house
your sons will be like olive shoots around your
    table.

11
  • Thus is the man blessed who fears the LORD. May
the LORD bless you from Zion all the days of your
life may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem,
and may you live to see your children's children.
  • Psalm 128

12
  • Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders
    labor in vain.
  • Psalm 1271

13
Why Family Is Important
  • Our families here point us to a greater reality.

14
  • Blood is thicker than water.

15
  • The Blood of Jesus
  • is the thickest of all.

16
  • Near the cross of Jesus stood His mother, His
mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and
Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw His mother there,
and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby,
He said to His mother, Dear woman, here is your
son, and to the disciple, Here is your mother.
From that time on, this disciple took her into
    his home. John 1925-27

17
  • Son, why have you treated us like this? Your
father and I have been anxiously searching for
you. Why were you searching for Me? He asked.
Didn't you know I had to be in My Father's
house? But they did not understand what He was
saying to them. Then He went down to Nazareth
with them and was obedient to them.
  • Luke 248-51

18
Taking It Home
  • Have an honest conversation with your family
about how you value each other and how you can
improve. Keep in mind that the best way to value
your family is to have the order of your
    relational priorities in line.

19
Taking It Home
  • Take the time to reflect on and pray over the
priority of your eternal family. Are there things
that need to be re-prioritized? Is there someone
you trust who can help you with your perspective
on this and keep you accountable to grow?
