HotSynching
18(1) Click on Palm Desktop to open the Palm
Desktop application

Conduit-Action Window
Conduit indicates the items that are being
connected during the HotSynch process

between the items that are being connected during
the HotSynch process
20(6) Click Change

file in your home computer for items in your PDA
that dont have a computer program associated
with them
(5) Click System or Backup
21(7) Choose Handheld overwrite Desktop
(9) Check OK
(8) Check Set as default
22After HotSync-ing
- Please check the version of your application on
your device. - It should be XNPS_6.0 (e.g., PNPS_6.0)
- Open the application on your PDA and check the
version of the application in the bottom of
right-hand corner.
23OneBridge vs HotSync
- There are two different synchronization processes
involved in this project - Clinical Log Synchronization via the One Bridge
program on your PDA - AND
- HotSync the synchronization process with your
home computer
24The OneBridge Process
- OneBridge is a program that is used to
communicate between your PDA and the CUSON
Clinical Log database - The OneBridge process synchronizes the data in
your Clinical Log application to the CUSON
Clinical Log database - OneBridge synchronization is different than the
HotSync process. - HotSync synchronizes all of the programs on
your PDA (calendar, contacts, etc) - OneBridge only synchronizes the Clinical Log
Application data - You should do both forms of synchronization at
regular intervals throughout the semester - See next slides for HotSync description and
instructions
25The HotSync Process
- The HotSync Process is used to synchronize the
files on your handheld device (Palm or PDA) to
the files on your home computer. - Please follow these instructions contained in
this document so that the data that you enter for
your clinical encounters will be safely stored on
your device. - There are two sets of instructions included here
- Delete Backup (System) files
- Format Conduit Settings
