RedvsBlue

• The greatest example of machinima is easily
  RedvsBlue.
• Created in late 2003, two different series have
  been spawned from the company which creates
  RedvsBlue.
• Rapidly growing, dealing out tens of terabytes a
  week. (Thats a lot..

Machinima complications

• Making machinima is nothing like making a normal
  movie.
• You must work with what you have. Unless you hack
  a game, there is no way to make someone raise
  their hands, or crawl on the ground (If the
  original doesnt allow it)
• You must control the characters with a controller
  or keyboard.
• You must record audio as you would if you were
  creating a cartoon
• Most, if not all machinima, are web-based. Many
  high profile media outlets do not take online
  movies seriously.
• Machinima is almost always created in video
  games. Video games always have things like life
  bars, ammo, etc. You must manually take all of
  this out for it to look professional, as seen in
  my images.

What is machinima?

• Michinimas are movies created (Mostly) in
  videogames, or an already created universe
  (Engine) in which you must work with what you
  have.
• Rapidly growing as video games become more
  advanced

Growing Approval

• The creators of RedvsBlue attend many large-scale
  events.
• They recently were invited to the Lincoln Center
  in NY for a show.
• They visit game stores for promotional events
• The Bare Naked Ladies (A band) show clips of them
  at their concerts.

• Won best machinima of 2003-2005

• Recently, events relating to machinima have been
  endorsed by some of the big-game of the movie
  industry.
• In New York, there is a large-scale machinima
  film festival every year.
