Overview

• My work involves consulting with young people
  16-25, specifically young drivers, to use a
  workshop approach in order to consult with young
  people around road safety advertisement. Using a
  focus group workshop with around 15 young people
  from varied backgrounds will enable the
  information inputted to be not only detailed, but
  from a diverse group of people.

The information consulted

• My work was to focus on some of the key areas of
  road safety issues. Working with young people I
  was to identify what can be done to further
  promote
• Wearing a seatbelt
• Not using a mobile phone whilst driving
• Reducing drink driving
• Awareness of pedestrians

This information will then be feed into a written
report which will be handed to the Department for
Transport. My work will certainly leave a mark
on the way in which Government Office for the
North East work, for example using MySpace to
reach young people, this online social network
allows people to join groups which they feel
passionate about, take part in surveys,
questionnaires, and take part in discussion
forums.
