  • The Classical Period - It was probably inspired
    by the dignity and beauty of the ancient Roman
    and Greek sculpture that he saw in Italy on a
    trip he took in 1917. 1921-1927

  • The Blue period - Was when he produced artwork
    that was more blue. He was depressed because his
    friend had recently committed suicide. 1901-1904

  • The Rose Period - Was when the circus had
    recently made an appearance so the palette had
    more of a rosy beige tone. 1905-1906

  • The attempt to show an object as it would look
    in real life three dimensional.

Guernica
  • During the Civil war in Spain, Guernica, the
    ancient city was destroyed. Picasso was enraged.
    To let out his anger he painted a mural. It
    took only a few weeks to finish the brilliant
    mural called Guernica.

    ballerina named Olga Koklova. They got married
