3Application Process
- Usually, applications must be submitted at least
six months in advance. - Resume and Cover letter
- Official Transcript
- Two letters of recommendation (at least one by a
faculty member) - Current passport sized photograph (2x2)

- Start preparing as soon as possible.
- Start to get to know your professors.
- Over the summer start writing your essay if the
internships require one. - Get your picture taken for the passport photo.
- Dont do anything illegal, that you know will

organization staffed by civilian special agents,

- The Office of Policy Analysis and Development
(OPAD) is the domestic policy division of NTIA.
OPAD is staffed by analysts trained in political
sciences, law, economics, engineering, and
business administration. - OPAD supports NTIA's role as the principal
adviser to the President on telecommunications
and information policies. Its goal is to enhance
the public interest by generating, articulating,
and advocating creative and influential policies
and programs in the telecommunications and
information sectors that promote innovation,
competition, consumer welfare, and economic and
social opportunities for all. - OPAD often accepts volunteer (unpaid) student
interns to assist the professional staff. Interns
are welcome for either a semester or longer
duration. All students must hold U.S. citizenship
and be
currently enrolled in a university program to be
qualified for an intern position. Depending upon
the intern's interests, skills and experience
s/he will have the opportunity to write as well
as conduct research on cutting-edge policy
issues.

10Federal Bureau of Investigations
- FBI is the United States highest level of law
enforcers. Their mission is to protect and defend
the United States against terrorist and foreign
intelligence threats, to uphold and enforce the
criminal laws of the United States, and to
provide leadership and criminal justice services
to federal, state, municipal, and international
agencies and partners. - Currently with change of Technology, the FBI also
has an Information Technology division. Their
goal is to hire the best people who are aware of
the types of crimes or offenses that can be taken
against the U.S, through the internet or other
emerging technology. This bring up the issue of
security which relates to the SRA major. They
strive to find ways to stop these issues and
continue to protect the US. - FBI offers an Honors Internship program, Middle

- The Secret Service is a federal law enforcement
agency with headquarters in Washington, D.C. and
more than 150 offices throughout the United
States and abroad. The Secret Service originally
was established in 1865, solely to suppress the
counterfeiting of U.S. currency. Today, the
agency is mandated by Congress to carry out dual
missions protection of the nation's leaders and
