How do I charge

Experience Has Shown
  • Reserved parking spaces for EV charging tend to
    elicit jealousy from Internal Combustion Engine
    (ICE) vehicle drivers, especially when parking
    spaces are in short supply and even more, when
    the EV spaces are in prime positions. Polite EV
    drivers only want the charge, not the prime
    spaces, therefore, they would prefer to have EV
    spaces in less desireable areas such as the back
    of parking lots, not near store entrances or
    other prime locations.
  • There are and likely could be multiple types of
    chargers. It is probably desirable to put more
    than 1 type in each place to accommodate
    different types of EVs.
  • Single charging post can supply 2 - 4 parking
    spaces with the same installation costs
  • For high capacity location with many charging
    sites, it may be cheaper and more efficient to
    bring large 3-phase, high voltage 440V cable to
    transformer that is close to charging sites. An
    electrician can determine if this is best
    approach.
