Summary of changes

• Remove permanent docking structures from boat
  launch standards, Section 10.27,L
• Create new Permanent Docking Structures,
  Section 10.27,O
• Add or amend several definitions in Section 10.02
  to accommodate changes
• Adjust language in Subdistricts to accommodate
  changes

Why change?

• Staff initiated Difficulties inconsistencies
  applying the existing dock standards, need for
  limitations in rule
• Introduced to the Commission in 2000 with the
  Miscellaneous Rule Changes, pulled due to
  inadequate public comment
• Now further expanded for more consistency with
  other agencies regulating docks in Maine and with
  LURC standard practice

Major changes

• Limit dock size
• Clarify no alternative site special exception
  criteria
• Set construction standards
• Allow in-kind, in-place reconstruction by permit
  in most subdistricts rather than by special
  exception
