Is Financial Aid Available?
  • Absolutely. This is an academic course, and
    financial aid applies. Financial Aid website

  • Wisconsin Grants for Study Abroad There is a
    limited amount of funding for study abroad
    grants. Contact the OIEP, Andersen Library,

How do I register?
  • Fill out an application (available at Sheila
    Tureks office--Heide 472or at the Office of
    International Education and ProgramsAnderson
    2243)
  • Return it to OIEP by December 14, 2007
  • The OIEP requires a 300 deposit the rest of the
    cost is billed through student accounts for
    spring semester

Do I need to know French to take the course?
  • No knowledge of French is necessary the course
    is taught in English. However, there is a brief
    language session right before the trip to Paris
    to help students acquire a basic travelers
    vocabulary.
  • Students who do wish to take the course for
    French credit, however, will do written work in
    French (and interview two Parisians).

How to register
  • Visit the OIEP (Anderson Library 2243) and fill
    out an application
  • OIEP will register students through WINS
  • Choose LSINDP 291, 491, 691 or FREN 491

Do I need a passport? Does the program cost cover
that?
  • Students do need a passport, and they should get
    the passport on their own (this cost is not
    included in the program fee). For more
    information, visit the State Department website

  • Fee is 97.00 processing takes about 4-6 weeks
  • Application must be done in person Whitewater
    Post Office is a passport application facility,
    or, to find a facility elsewhere, go to

How much money should I bring?
  • This is always a difficult question to answer.
    Students are responsible for all lunches and most
    dinners, and prices vary according to the type of
    meal. Many students have suggested a minimum of
    50 a day for meals, entertainment and souvenirs,
    but this amount will vary by individual.
