Project Background

• Introduction of the Research Governance
  Framework.
• By April 2004, NHS Trusts must have Research
• Governance in place.
• A Working Group established to consider the
• implications of the Framework.
• Commissioned a project to trial a Research
• Management System in the RGHT.

• Expanded to full Project Initiation Document.

• The Research Management system was formally
• launched on 1st October on time.
• The project is comfortably under budget.
• The Project Board deem Phase1 a success.
• Preliminary planning for Phase 2 is underway.
