Consequences of Land Mines today

• The countries most devastated by land-mines are
  probably Afghanistan, Angola and Cambodia.
• In Cambodia 1 out of every 250 people have lost a
  limb because of land mines.
• Each year 2 million mines are placed but only
  100.000 mines are cleared.
• One mine costs US3 to manufacture and US1000
  to clear.
• A mine can remain active for 50 years.
