History of Roseland
  • Acres of wild roses were the inspiration
  • for the Post Office in Roseland.
  • The land in Roseland is very flat.
  • Today Roseland has about 250 people
  • and is surrounded by fine agricultural land.

History of Bladen
  • Established in 1872
  • Townspeople relocated to Bladenin order to make
    a train stop.
  • County Fair has been in Bladen since 1905.
  • Bladen is a shipping center for grain.

History of Campbell
  • In early 1870s the Little Blue River
  • attracted settlers to this area.
  • The Lincoln Land Company created the town
  • of Campbell in May.
  • Named after Alex Campbell, the supervisor of
  • the railroad.
  • Campbell maintained an active business district.

History of Holstein
  • Was in the making in early 1870s.
  • The railroad gave a boost to community
    development.
  • Officially incorporated in 1889.

School History
  • Bladen Bulldogs and Roseland Cardinals
    consolidated in 1986-1987 school year.
  • In 1998 the Campbell Cardinals merged into
  • Silver Lake School District.
  • Holstein Wildcats joined in 2006.
  • The four communities create a learning
  • environment for kindergarten through twelfth.
  • Silver Lake adopted Mustangs as the mascot
  • Maroon, Silver, and Black are school colors.

Technology
  • On January 8, 2008 Silver Lake purchased new
    laptops for each student.
  • I think this was a good idea
  • because..
  • Students can do assignments on the computers.
  • They help each person complete writing
    assignments easier.
  • They are more fun and exciting to
  • work with in class.
