7Being Prepared for the Day
- Come to school regularly and on time.
- Make sure your child eats breakfast.
- Pack an extra set of clothes, just incase they
have an accident. - Be sure your kindergartner gets plenty of sleep
the night before. - Make sure they have all supplies needed for their
day.
8The First Few Weeks Behaviors to Expect.
- Crying before or when arriving at school.
- Expressing they feel sick before school.
- Your child may regress to any early stage.
9Supporting Your Kindergartner
- Incorporate reading into your daily routine
- Provide many ways for your child to
represent their her experience. - Show interest in and support of your
childs school activities - Take time to talk with your child.
10A Note From the Counselor
Welcome to Hamilton Disston Elementary.
As your childs guidance counselor I will
be involved with your child as part of a
group experience. I will visit the kindergarten
room twice a month for activities and stories
that deal with sharing , tattle telling, honesty,
caring, responsibility, respect, and many more.
I look forward to getting to know your child and
