May 3, 1852 Dear Little Sister, I am on my
journey to America. I cant wait until I get
off this drippy boat. There are so many of us,
but I think not so many of us are going to make
it. All I hold is my teddy bear and my two pair
of clothes. Its not so loud in here, because
most of the people are sick. But it dose stink
in here it smells like raw fish. There is not
much to eat, but what we find on the floor or
what the people up stairs give us or should I say
throw at us. There is not much room neither, the
only time I get to stand up is when it gets cold
and we have to huddle up to get worm. I think
about America some times, I think about it being
easy to find a job and my own place. I also think
of it like stepping in to a new world. But I also
think about it being hard, because I dont know
any body that has a job for me and what if they
dont let me live in a house, because of how I
look. Well tell momma and papa that I LOVE them
and I love you too. Yours truly, Kimi
