• Dell Latitude 830 Laptop
• AC adapter
• Carrying Case

Protect the LCD Screen

• always carry in a padded case
• avoid hard physical shocks to the system
• avoid extreme temperatures and humidity
• do not place anything heavy on your laptop
• do not overstuff your carrying case, placing
  undue pressure on the screen

Cleaning the LCD Screen

• shut down disconnect the power source
• wipe the LCD screen gently with a soft, dry cloth
  (microfiber cloths are excellent)
• if any marks remain, moisten the cloth with LCD
  cleaner (or 50/50 isopropyl alcohol/water
  mixture), and then gently clean the display,
  moving from top to bottom in one direction
• be sure the LCD screen is dry before closing or
  using the computer

Set Default Printer

• Start, Printers and Faxes
• right click, set as default printer

Scan for Viruses

• Kaspersky Anti-Virus
• right-click icon
• scan My Computer for viruses

Wireless Connection

• WiFi light on bottom right of monitor
• WiFi Catcher on left edge of laptop

• wireless connection unavailable(icon at far
  right of taskbar)
• right click, view available wireless networks,
  refresh network list, select wireless network,
  click connect

• follow all SCS regulations policies
• property of Salem City Schools
• DO NOT install software without the permission of
  the technology staff
• DO NOT remove ID labels or change the laptops
  name
• provide care and protection
• report problems immediately
• return promptly when requested to be used for
  SOL testing
