What is Cross-Site Evaluation?
  • Cross-Site refers to
  • Required evaluation activities of SPF-SIG
    activities for all communities that have received
    SPF-SIG funding.
  • Not just Indiana.

How is the Cross-Site Evaluation conducted?
  • On-line web-based surveys
  • Two Community Level Instruments (CLI)
  • Community Partners
  • Intervention Strategies

What does the Community Partners instrument ask?
  • Questions about community activities in
    (surprise, surprise)
  • Needs assessment
  • Capacity building
  • Strategic planning
  • Implementation
  • Evaluation

What does the Intervention Strategies Instrument
ask?
  • Questions about
  • Issues of prevention program selection
  • Issues about implementation
  • Separate survey completed for each separate
    intervention

What is the timeline and submission process?
  • Each funded community completes on a semi-annual
    basis
  • Each CLI collection covers 6 months of activities
  • Period July 1December 31, due to feds February

  • Period January 1June 30, due to feds August 15

  • 4 weeks community to complete and send to state
    evaluators
  • 1 week state evaluators to review CLI and make

Who is responsible for completing the CLI?
  • Funded communities with input from
  • Project director
  • Local evaluator
  • Intervention delivery staff
  • And, of course, others as necessary

What materials, as appropriate, should be on hand
to complete the CLI?
  • Budgets
  • Results of needs/resource assessments
  • Strategic plans
  • Meeting minutes
  • Memoranda of understanding
  • Intervention implementation materials (curricula,
    programs, etc.)
  • Evaluation plans, findings, reports
  • Policies regarding cultural competence

How will the data be used?
  • This is a federally mandated evaluation, so lets
    assume that the feds will use it.
  • State-level evaluators will use it to
  • help monitor the progress of the local
    communities, and
  • to ensure that, as necessary, mid course
    corrections are made to increase the likelihood
    of success
  • Local-level evaluators will use it for the same
    reasons as the state-level evaluators

  • Web-based
  • After the first completion, some of the
    information will automatically complete
  • You dont have to complete it all at once
  • The CLI has about 300 questions but only
    questions with regard to completed activities
    need to be completed
