- Web Pages on a server are made up of HTML files.
- Every word processor can save documents as HTML
files

- 2 Main Steps To Create a Web Page
- Create a document and save it as a web page
(HTML) on your hard drive (usually Drive C).
- Send a copy of the file to the Server using a
File Transfer Program (FTP)
8Putting an Assignment on the Web
- Here is an assignment typed in MS Word
Do not put spaces in file name
File name should have NO spaces

FTP Files Transfer Program (technically
protocol) - Is a program that allows you to
transfer files between your computer to Web
Server.
10Setting Up FTP
- Go to Adam Scott Web Site www.adamscott.ca
- Click On DEC 6th PD. Look For This Graphic .
- Click on the FTP program you want to down load
(either Windows 95/98, ME , 2000, or XP.

- Save the file into a directory of your choice
- Run the file by choosing Run (click START at
bottom left) browsing and clicking on the file

Hit Cancel to To See LOCAL and REMOTE files
- Do NOT Worry About These Buttons

These are files on YOUR computer
Once logged in to Server this will show files
on the Server

- Log onto server

- Click on Profile Name
- To see all Servers that
- You can log on to.

Need to Get Login and Password from George Coulis
at the Board Office
This is the web address. It should be the same
for every school in kpr. (www2.kpr.edu.on.ca)

Now logged into server can see files used for
the Adam Scott Web Page
We will now transfer the nevin.htm file to the
adam scott sever.

Click on UP Arrow to Browse Up a Directory.

Click on example_web_page directory

Click on nevin.htm file

Click on right arrow to send

nevin.htm is now on server
