20Payment of IDT Travel Costs
- Applies to members of the Selected Reserve in
critical AFSCs and current critical staffing
shortages list - Assigned to BRAC, Programmatic locations
- Includes PBD 720 impacted IMAs/organizations who
continue to serve in the Selected Reserve
irrespective of their new duty station - Reside 150 miles or more from the duty station
- Perform UTAs, RMPs, AFTPs and GTPs

- Section 1102 Continuation of Life Insurance
Coverage For Federal Employees Called to AD - Authorizes Federal employees who are members of a
reserve component called or ordered to AD for
more than 30 days and who enters on approved
leave without pay to perform AD continue coverage
under Federal Employees Group Life Insurance for
a period not to exceed 24 months - Employees are responsible for the premium
payments after the initial 12 months of coverage

- Section 604-INCOME REPLACEMENT PAYMENTS FOR
RESERVE COMPONENT MEMBERS EXPERIENCING EXTENDED
AND FREQUENT MOBILIZATION FOR AD SERVICE - OLD A reserve component member is entitled to a
payment for any full month of - AD under an involuntary mobilization order
following the date on which the - member - (1) completes 18 continuous months of
service on AD under such an - order (2) completes 24 months on AD during the
previous 60 months under such - an order.
- NEW Changes the method for measuring cumulative
periods of qualifying - service by counting cumulative days, rather than
months. A member of a - Reserve Component is entitled to be paid when
(1) complete 547 continuous - days on AD under an involuntary mobilization
order during the previous 1,826 - days or (2) complete 730 cumulative days on AD
under an involuntary - mobilization order during the previous 1,826 days
or (3) be involuntarily - mobilized for service on AD for a period of 180
days or more within 180 days - after the date of the member's separation from a
previous period of AD for a - period of 180 days or more. (FY 09 NDAA extended
it to 31 Dec 09)

- Section 702 - Temporary Prohibition on Increase
in Copayments Under Retail Pharmacy System of
Pharmacy Benefits Program - NEW Limits the cost-sharing requirements for
drugs provided through the TRICARE retail
pharmacy program to amounts not more than 3 for
generic drugs, 9 for formulary drugs, and 22
for non-formulary drugs until September 30, 2009.

- CPP05-10BEmployment of Spouses, Widows/Widowers,
and Immediate Family Members Preferential
Appointment Would allow spouses,
widows/widowers, and immediate family members of
uniformed service members and DOD civilians who
have deployed to contingency areas and sustained
serious injuries or died in the GWOT preferential
appointment of federal employment. - HA01-10Reinstatement of Medical Benefits for
Surviving Spouses When Subsequent Marriage Ends
Reinstate medical benefits when the subsequent
marriage of the surviving spouse or previous
spouse who remarries while still under the age of
55 ends because of death, annulment or divorce to
the subsequent spouse. - MPP02-10 Elimination of Offset to SBP
Entitlements Due to Receipt of DIC Payment
Eliminates the dollar for dollar reduction of the
Survivor Benefit Program (SBP) annuity when a
surviving spouse also receives the Dependency and
Indemnity Compensation (DIC) payment from the
Veterans Administration.

since September 11, 2001 other than basic

- How much will you get
- Actual Dollar amount paid depends on length of AD
service - 40 for 90 days up to 100 for 3 years of AD
service - Tuition capped at most expensive state school
rate - Tuition/Fees paid directly to the school
- 1000 annually for books/supplies
- Housing allowance for in-resident students only
- Can be used for
- In-residence study, distance learning,
undergraduate and advanced degree classes,
enrolled in after 1 Aug 2009
28New GI Bill - What is it?
- What is the length of your benefit
- 36 Months
- Must be used within 15 years of your last period
of 90 continuous days of active duty - If you have less than 90 continuous AD days, the
date of your 91st day of cumulative service will
be used to start your 15 years of eligibility - VA limits you to a max of 48 months of benefits
from all GI Bill programs for which you may be
eligible - If you qualify for the New GI Bill
- You may be able to transfer your benefit with
additional eligibility

- No restriction on number of available months or
dependents to whom benefits are transferred - Dependents must be listed in DEERS
- Member may elect to transfer benefit to unmarried
children under the age of 18 or before their 23rd
birthday and still in college - Children may use benefit
- Once they attain the age of 18 or complete
requirements of secondary school diploma (or
equivalency certificate) - Until age 26 even if members 15 year
eligibility period has ended - If child has married after starting benefit
