  postgrads at Ferry Road, Eastney
• Professor Geoff Kneale was appointed to serve on
  a prestigious committee of the Institut Laue-
  Langevin (ILL is the worlds leading facility for
  neutron science)
• SEES
• PHD student Sam Heads named rare fossil after
  research Fellow Bob Loveridge an insect which
  lived 110 million years ago (Colossocossus
  loveridgei)
• SPCD
• 14 Dental nurses were the first to qualify from
  Dentistry in February -
• SHSSW
• Successsful organisational changes after their
  transfer from being PIMHS
• Sports and Exercise Science
• Sports Bra Study undertaken by Dr. Jo Scurr
  feature in the national press

• SPCD
• A joint bid from the Universities of Portsmouth
  and Southampton to establish the first dental
  school in the South East outside London was
  tragically unsuccessful
• SHSSW and the Expert Centre
• Moves postponed for these departments due to
  sewerage leak at James Watson (now known as Pooh
  Corner)
