Prpgrammes strategic objectives
  • To improve peoples access to government
    services, knowledge and information
  • To strengthen the co-ordination and integration
    of service delivery at a local and community
    level
  • To improve networking and communication between
    government and the local community

Programmes strategic objectives
  • To ensure that the poor have access to all basic
    services and programmes
  • To ensure that the communitys access to
    government information leads to the effective
    transformation of society
  • To ensure that government services reach their
    targets
  • To ensure that government maintains contact with
    people where they live

Background
  • The Community Development Workers Programme began
    in earnest in 2003
  • A Unit based in the Minstry for Public Service
    and Administration since Nov. 2004 coordinates
    the implementation
  • Unit is assisted by a national task team (NTT),
    which includes DPLG Pres, etc.
  • Provincial units now established with varying
    strengths
