- The City has several events held in the Village
Center each year. The infrastructure put into
the Village Center was done by TIFA funding
leaving no cost to special assessments.

20FINANCIAL STABILITY
The City of Auburn Hills has an A1 bond rating by
Moodys. For the fiscal year ending December
31, 2007, the Citys debt and principal payments
in its governmental funds as a percent of total
governmental funds expenditures dropped to the
lowest level in the past 13 years to 2.3. The
governmental funds have cash and cash equivalent
balances of approximately 36 million. During
2007 the fund balances of governmental funds
increased by 2.7 million or 9.5. The unreserved
fund balance of the general fund increased by
1.6 million in 2007 to approximately 7.4
million which represents 51 of the general fund
expenditure level in 2007. Based on its state
equalized property tax values, the City has a
debt limit as of December 31, 2007 of 284
million whereas the Citys indebtedness subject
to the limit is 12,745,000. On a government
wide financial reporting basis, the Citys net
assets exceeded its liabilities at December 31,
2007 by 177.4 million. Net assets as of
December 31, 2007 were composed of 25.8
in assets restricted for specific programs,
121.9 in capital assets net of related
outstanding debt, and 29.7 of unrestricted
assets.
