2Just how many, you ask? Take a look!
3South Delta Senior Secondary Tsawwassen, BC
My house was up here
This was my elementary school (South Park)
S.D.S.S.
This was my junior high (its now a bunch of
condos)
This was where all the cool kids hung out and
smoked cigarettes.

4I could have been a very small- minded girl,
growing up in the same house in the same town my
whole life IF it werent for
our weekly trips to Whistler!
5University of Whistler
- Okay not a real university,
- but I learned a lot about life here
- Weekends, summer holidays,
- and school breaks were spent
- teaching kids how to ski, working
- in retail, and being a friendly lift
- operator.
- One particularly useful pre-university
- skill I learned here was from
- Partying 101 How to Stay up All
- Night and Still Make it to Work on
- Time.
6Out of 7 universities I applied to, only
-
-
- YORK UNIVERSITY accepted me!
I was happy to leave lotus land for a change, but
unhappy to discover the peculiar sensation of
nostrils sticking together when you breathe in
-30 degree weather!

Herstmonceux Castle International Study
Centre Queen's University
Here I studied Art History from the originals,
studied English Literature in Virginia Woolfs
homeland, and went on fieldtrips throughout the
UK and Europe. During my spare time, I enjoyed
going for walks on the grounds, playing croquet
in the garden, and sipping tea in the courtyard!

9Back Home to CAPILANO COLLEGE in North Vancouver,
BC
- Oh how I missed the Cedar and Douglas
- Fir trees this college in the rainforest
- was the perfect welcome home!
- My nostalgia for teaching kids
- how to ski inspired me to pursue
- teaching.
- I worked hard to obtain my
- prerequisite courses so I was
- able to apply to teachers
- college.
- I really enjoyed the small
- class sizes and
- personable atmosphere.
10Simon Fraser University
- I was elated when the letter came in the mail I
got accepted to the Professional Development
Program (PDP)! - I was going to be a teacher! However,
- It was probably the most insane year of my life
I had a very difficult class during my practicum
and I cried on my way to school every morning. - I persevered and obtained certification to teach
public schools in British Columbia.
11During the next five school-less years, I
experienced many wonderful things
I taught in many different types of classrooms.
We bought our first house!
I got married!
We renovated our house!
I gave birth to a boy (now 3 1/2) and a girl (now
10 months)!
12I never knew work to be quite so enjoyable until
I got my job as Teacher Librarian!
SLAIS at UBC!
13Of all the schools Ive loved before,
SLAIS is definitely one of my favourites!
(Although, its tough to beat a 15th
Century moated castle)
