  • Underemployment data gathered via 3711 random
    household telephone surveys

    are underemployed by education
  • The split between male and female underemployment
    is very close, with females at 51 of that total

PROJECT SURPRISES
  • 81 of all jobs in our region fall into less than
    25 occupational categories. There is strong need
    to diversify business in SW MN.
  • Most PT workers are PT because they want to be
  • Satisfaction with day care is less of an issue in
    SW MN than expected
  • There are less people commuting OUT of the the
    region to work than believed
  • Number of hours worked per week is larger than
    anticipated
