Who is important in the story of the Statue of
Liberty ?
  • The French people are important because they are
    the ones who gave us the statue.
  • Fredric Auguste Bartholdi, he is the one who
    sculpted the statue of liberty in 1876.
  • Alexandre Gustive and Bartholdi decided where
    they should put the metal pieces.

Important facts about the Statue of Liberty
  • The Statue of Liberty is a lady wearing a dress.
  • She has a torch in one hand and a book in the
    other hand.
  • The book is called a tablet and it says July IV M
    DCCLXXVI.
  • The tablet is 23 ft., 7 in. long , 13 ft., 7 in.
    wide and 2 ft. thick.

When did the important facts happen?
  • 1876, Bartholdi sculpted the statue.
  • It could have been completed in 1883 but since
    the pedestal wasnt ready, so the work on the
    statue started to get slower.
  • 1884 all of the pieces of the statue had been put
    together and it stood a veritable colossus
    overlooking all of the roof tops f Paris.
  • 1885 the statue was assembled and it took 4
    months.
  • 1886 the people in New York had a ceremony for
    the statue being a part of they're state.
